Director of Taxation

Joe Lager is Director of Taxation for 1031 Exchange Solutions, Inc., an affiliate of EagleStone Tax & Wealth Advisors (“ESTWA”). 1031 Exchange Solutions, Inc. was created to help clients manage and execute 1031 exchanges on a nationwide basis.

Joe Lager joined EagleStone Tax & Wealth Advisors in November 2013 as Senior Tax Associate. Over the years Joe has grown with ESTWA and is currently a Shareholder and the Director of Tax & Accounting. He came to EagleStone by way of mid-size public accounting firms in the New York metropolitan area. Joe’s career working in public accounting allowed him to gain valuable experience in a variety of accounting services from standard client services, tax, audit, and litigation support.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting from SUNY (State University of New York) New Paltz, graduating cum laude. While attending SUNY New Paltz, in recognition of high scholastic achievement, Joe was awarded membership into Sigma Beta Delta (International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration).

Joe is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Fraud Examiner, and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®). Joe’s professional memberships include: Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (Associate Member); AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants); NYSSCPA (New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants); Sigma Beta Delta—International Honor Society in Business, Management and Administration; Estate Planning Council (Suburban Maryland Chapter), former Board Member and Treasurer; MACPA (Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants); MSATP (Maryland Society of Accounting & Tax Professionals); and IDFA (Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™).

Joe resides in Rockville, Maryland.
